At the Oval Motorcycle Centre (OMC) we run a Basic Maintenance Evenings. The course is split in to two parts, you can choose to do both parts or either one, we obviously recommend that you do both. The course is designed to teach you how to check all the areas of a motorcycle that would or should be inspected on any service or pre-MOT check and can help you to spot defects in the purchasing of a second hand motorcycle.
The course covers;
Brakes (pads & discs),
Chain & sprockets,
Forks & rear shock absorber,
Control cables & levers.
The Basic Maintenance Course are run each Tuesday evening from 7pm and each part costs £57.
Each session has 12 places and will last for 2 hours, although sometimes it can finish later, as lots of questions are asked, which is a good thing.
The price for each part includes 1hr Bench Time (£34.80) to be used at your convenience. Booking both parts gives you 2hrs free! This bench time can be used to consolidate your training evening or to deal with any issues that arose during the evening.
You can choose to do either Pt1 or Pt2 and in any order.
Please check the calendar below for availability.
Customer Quote: "After 5 years in motorcycling, I am kicking myself for not doing something like this before. The training was excellent at providing all of us with a real core of things to do and easily maintain on our own bikes. It was a fun night out while learning how to maintain my own bike (which is something I have secretly wanted to do for a long time). Instructor knew his stuff inside out and as a bonus, those of us who rode in got our bikes used as various examples of how to fix things!!! I came out with a bike that felt better than it went in, even though it was supposed to be a course for me and not her! I will definitely be coming back to do my own service now that I have the key skills and know that the staff at the centre are very knowledgeable"
